David Walliams parted ways with longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Acclaimed young adult author and comedian David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

An official for the company commented: "Following a thorough review, and with the guidance of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has decided not to publish additional books by David Walliams."

Reports indicate that the decision was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of questionable actions towards women.

The firm has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, adding: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams is one of the UK's most best-selling authors for kids, having sold in excess of 60 million copies internationally in 55 languages.

The debut children's novel from Walliams, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins in 2008.

Some of his titles, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into small-screen adaptations.

His bibliography includes more than 40 books altogether, including a festive story titled *Santa & Son*, which came out under HarperCollins this past October.

Television and Literature

He first rose to fame on the broadcast sketch program *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his role as a panelist on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was made an OBE several years ago honoring his contributions to philanthropic and artistic endeavors.

The publisher's decision comes after the appointment of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's freshly installed boss in October.
