The forty-third yearly Golden Joystick Awards were hosted recently, and with a remarkable performance, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was crowned the biggest winner. This surprise role-playing game by Sandfall Interactive secured the prestigious Game of the Year award, along with honors for Outstanding Narrative and Best Visual Design.

Enhancing the developer's triumph, the talented actors also were honored with personal awards. Jennifer English received Outstanding Lead Performance for her portrayal as Maelle, while Ben Starr won Best Supporting Actor for his work as Verso. Furthermore, Sandfall Interactive itself was honored as Best Development Team. Overall, Clair Obscur and its developers collected 7 awards throughout the show.

Other notable winners included Ghost of Yōtei, which received Top Sound Design and Top Console Title, and Hollow Knight: Silksong, winning Top Self-Published Indie and PC Game of the Year. It is important to note, the bulk of Golden Joystick Awards are voted on by the public, with only 4 special—Critics Choice, Breakthrough, Hall of Fame, and Streamers' Favorite—decided by reviewers.
