FC Barcelona Set to Play First Match at Upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday

Barça revealed their first game will take place at the renovated but unfinished Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years after they moved out for construction to commence.

“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Not all seats will be available with 45,401 fans are permitted inside under the licence granted. Once fully finished, the stadium’s capacity will reach almost 105,000 spectators, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Recent Activities

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium on 7 November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa for their upcoming Champions League fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt next month at the stadium. Their recent games have been held at Estadio Olímpic Lluís Companys.
