Trump Business Attempted to Bring In Almost 200 Workers on Work Permits in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on short-term work permits this period, while his government was placing obstacles for other companies wanting to do the same, an analysis published recently stated.

According to data from the US Department of Labor, the business sought to bring in at least nearly 200 overseas employees in the coming year for temporary positions at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, golf facilities and his Virginia winery.

The number of requests for temporary work visas covering staff including waitstaff, clerks, housekeepers, culinary employees and agricultural laborers was the record submitted by the company, and up from over 120 in the previous term, when his presidency ended.

It was also the fifth time in a decade that Trump had sought to bring in over a hundred foreign employees for temporary positions at his Florida resort, according to available data.

The revelation comes amid a crackdown on immigration laws by his government that has included the implementation of a $100,000 fee on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the millions of people who possess US visas; and tighter regulations for foreign students and journalists.

In total, the business sought to employ 566 overseas workers over the five years Trump has been in the presidency, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Notably, the former president was criticized by certain in the Republican party this week for remarks defending the necessity for overseas employees when a business was unable to find people with “specific talents” to fill certain positions.

“You cannot just say a nation is entering, going to invest billions to build a facility, and going to take people off an unemployment line who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their defense systems. It doesn’t work that well,” he told a host after she suggested that overseas employees undercut the wages of US workers.

The administration declined a request for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an request for information.
